How to Make Text Larger in Mac Apps

Also available for: Windows 11

What you need: A Mac with macOS Sonoma 14 or later. These steps change the text size in the apps listed in the Text size window.

  1. Click the Apple menu (the Apple logo) in the upper-left corner of the screen, then click System Settings.
  2. Click Accessibility on the left, then click Display on the right.
  3. Scroll down to Text, then click Text size.
  4. Place the pointer on the slider's handle. Hold down the mouse or trackpad button, move the handle a little to the right to choose a larger size, then release the button.
  5. For each app listed below the slider, click the size menu beside its name and choose Use Preferred Reading Size. This makes the app follow your chosen text size.
  6. Click Done to finish.

Expected result: The listed apps use the larger text size you chose.
