Windows 11

How to Save a Website as a Favorite in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11

Also available for: macOS

What you need: A Windows 11 computer, Microsoft Edge, and the address of the website you want to save, such as example.com.

  1. Click Start (the Windows logo) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Type Microsoft Edge, then click Microsoft Edge in the search results to open it.
  3. Click the long address bar at the top of the Edge window, type the website address, and press Enter. Wait for the website to appear.
  4. At the right end of the address bar, click the star with a small plus sign. Its label is Add this page to favorites. A small box opens with a Name box and a Folder box.
  5. Read the folder name shown in the Folder box. This is where Edge keeps your favorite. Leave the box as it is, then click Done. Do not click Remove, which deletes the favorite.
  6. Look at the star in the address bar. It is now filled in with color instead of being an outline.
  7. Click the three dots (Settings and more) in the upper-right corner of Edge, then click Favorites. Find the folder name you read in step 5. If its list is closed, click the folder name. Your website's name is listed there.

Expected result: The star in the address bar is filled in, and the website is listed under Favorites in the folder you read in step 5. You can open it again from that list.
