How to Check the Storage Available on Your Mac

What you need: A Mac with macOS Ventura 13 or later.

1. Click the Apple menu (the Apple logo) in the upper-left corner of the screen, then click System Settings.
2. Click General on the left, then click Storage on the right.
3. Wait for the storage bar at the top of the window to finish loading.
4. Move the pointer over the light gray part of the bar. Read the amount shown in the label that appears. This is the storage available for files and apps.

Expected result: The storage bar shows the amount of space available on your Mac.
