How to Open an App on a Mac

What you need: A Mac. These steps open Calculator, which comes with every Mac. To open a different app, find that app's name in step 3 instead.

1. Click Finder (the blue smiling face) in the Dock, the row of app icons along the edge of the screen.
2. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Go, then Applications.
3. Find Calculator in the window. The apps are in alphabetical order, so Calculator is near the top. If you do not see it, scroll down in the window.
4. Double-click Calculator. To double-click, press the mouse or trackpad button twice quickly while the pointer is on the icon.

Expected result: The Calculator window is open on your screen.
