Windows 11
How to Change a PDF Document's Print Size on Windows 11
Also available for: macOS
What you need: A Windows 11 computer, Microsoft Edge, a saved PDF document, and the name of a printer you have used with this computer.
Before you begin: These steps make the contents of the paper copy larger or smaller. Turn on your printer and load the same size of paper you normally use. Connect its USB cable to the computer if you normally use one.
- Click Start (the Windows logo) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Type File Explorer, then click File Explorer in the search results to open it.
- Click the folder containing your PDF, such as Documents or Downloads, on the left. To open a folder inside it, double-click that folder by clicking twice quickly. Continue until you see your PDF.
- Right-click the PDF by clicking it once with the right mouse button. Point to Open with, then click Microsoft Edge.
- In Microsoft Edge, click the three dots in the upper-right corner, then click Print.
- Click the name shown under Printer to open the list, then click your printer's name. If it is not listed, click Cancel and stop here.
- Click More settings. Leave Paper size set to the size you normally print on.
- Under Scale (%), select Custom.
- Replace the number in the percentage box. 100 means original size. A higher number makes the contents larger; a lower number makes them smaller.
- Check the preview. If any words or pictures are cut off, lower the percentage until the whole page fits.
- Set Copies to 1, then click Print.
Expected result: The paper copy uses the size shown in the preview. The saved PDF is unchanged.
