Windows 11

How to Make the Mouse Pointer Move Slower or Faster on Windows 11

Also available for: macOS

What you need: A Windows 11 computer with a mouse connected. These steps change how fast the pointer moves across the screen when you move the mouse.

  1. Click Start (the Windows logo) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Type Settings, then click Settings in the search results to open it.
  3. Click Bluetooth & devices on the left, then click Mouse on the right.
  4. Find Mouse pointer speed. Beside it is a slider, a bar with a round handle. Place the pointer on the handle, hold down the left mouse button, move the handle to the left to make the pointer slower or to the right to make it faster, then release the button.
  5. Move the mouse across the screen and notice how fast the pointer follows your hand. If it is still not comfortable, repeat step 4 and adjust the handle again.

Expected result: The pointer moves more slowly or more quickly than before when you move the mouse.
